To trim or not to trim

That is the question.

I haven't trimmed any of the photos on here, and to be honest I'm not sure if I should. I would like to try to see the whole picture, and to frame images in a way that pleases me.

I'm sure at some point I'll want to perfect each photo, but for now I'm happy with the whole scene.

Hi Stiggy

It depends really, mainly on the subject(s) you are shooting. Landscapes or subjects that are still make it easy to compose the photograph 'in camera' so less or no cropping is required. Moving subjects however sometimes calls for a crop to get rid of distracting backgrounds etc.

Cheers Karen.

I spose it'll be obvious when I have to trim.

Cheers again.

Sometimes its a lot of pressure to expect perfection, even pro's will say this. Although it is best to aim to capture the shot 'in camera' so to speak, you can learn a lot from editing and messing about in general that you can apply to taking shots in the future iykwim?
